Happy New Year, everyone! I hope your 2021 has started much better than your 2020 began, or ended for that matter. While this new year may present its own set of challenges, it is my wish that I’m able to do what I feel God put me on this earth to do, and that’s be a light in what seems to be increasingly dark times.
With that being said, every year I do this whole “starting fresh” thing with my blog, where I temporarily take down the other posts I’ve written in order to start over. I do this because my other content is so specific, and every year, I think I’m going to go in a different direction. This year, I’m not necessarily going in a different direction, but I would like to change the tone a bit.
My previous posts were mainly about building a relationship with God, but as I went back and read over them, my writing seemed so complicated to me. It read like term papers instead of my personal thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about well-researched and presented information, but when it comes to talking about Christ, I’d like to take a less scholarly and more personal approach.
I also wanted to make this public pledge/declaration to write more this year. Last year was ghostwriter-heavy for me. I worked on lots of projects for other people, which took time away from being able to write for my own blog, and I want to change that this year. So this is me, declaring it. Feel free to keep me honest!
